Price per class is $125.00, two classes $250.00, and three $375.00. Registering for classes on this website is for the week and will not allow enrollment for a specific class. This is due to the website's design that is for an on-site camp; however, we have made adjustments to accommodate a virtual summer camp. The summer camp coordinator will contact each family to see which class they enrolled their child. This information will be given to the instructors and they will contact the students giving them Zoom log in and password information. Basic Spanish language for small children-This course experience is designed as a student’s very first introduction to the Spanish language for young learners.  Students will be introduced to Latin American culture, basic greetings, and vocabulary through interactive games and activities. Course Materials - Students must have access to a working computer that can access ZOOM and other apps.: 9:00-10:00 am.

Math detectives-Students become super math sleuths in this course.  We will think critically as we discover that math is actually all around us. Fun games, activities, and math mysteries is what this camp is all about. Course Materials - Students must have access to a working computer that can access ZOOM and other apps. Supply List: Arts and crafts materials such, but not limited to, white paper, construction paper, pencils, crayons, markers, color pencils, scissors, glue, tape, etc.: 10:00-11:00 am.

Exploring Elements of Art-Students will learn about the 7 Elements of Art, and use different elements and techniques each day to create a new piece inspired by a famous artist. Materials needed: Access to Zoom, Pencil, Paper, Coloring Utensils (Markers, Color Pencils, Crayons), Play-Doh (any color), Scissors, Glue (Bottle or Stick): 11:00 am-12:00 pm.

STEM in the Fairy Tale Forest-Some of our favorite stories come to life in this camp as we engineer ways to help the characters solve problems. You’ll use your creativity, problem-solving skills, and the Engineering Design Process to come up with solutions and test them out. Course Materials - Students must have access to a working computer that can access ZOOM and other apps. Suggested Supply List: Found items and recyclables (cardboard boxes and containers, paper towel/ toilet tissue rolls, plastic bottles, coffee filters, plastic grocery bags, etc.); Arts and craft materials such as white paper, construction paper, glue, tape, scissors, crayons, markers, toothpicks, popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, straws, etc.; Common toys such as legos, building blocks. : 1:00-2:00 pm

Fitness-working on cardiovascular and endurance. We will be using bodyweight:2:00-3:00 pm.

Supply List: Arts and crafts material such as paper, pencil, protection for the table, paint, and natural air drying clay.2:00-3:00 pm.

Description

Midtown International School is Atlanta's K-12 home for globally-minded, gifted learners. Our summer camps are interdisciplinary academic enrichment opportunities where students tackle big problems in creative and collaborative ways. All students enrolled in summer camps choose threads each week in the arts; science, robotics, or technology; math or engineering; literature, writing, or humanities; athletics; test prep; or foreign languages. There are new activities and opportunities every week! This year we will have a virtual summer camp where you will have the option of signing up your students for individual classes. The courses are designed to be one hour long thus limiting screen time. You also have the option of signing up for a morning, afternoon, and evening sessions.

Each day will consist of circle time activities, stories, games, and academic practice. Course Materials - Students must have access to a working computer that can access ZOOM and other apps. Supply List: Arts and crafts materials such as, but not limited to, white paper, construction paper, pencils, crayons, color pencils, markers, scissors, glue, tape, old magazines, etc.

Sculpting with Clay-This course is an introduction to sculpting with natural clay.
